Mr. Dan came today with all of his pets in honor of Earth Day! Did you know that alligators were almost extinct? Not anymore! Ask us about Chubby!

Beverly Library Re-Dedication

Last Friday Beverly had a very special dedication for the very first principal of Beverly!Our class was invited to attend the ceremony, what an honor! The original school was built in 1954 and was opened with Mr. Ferguson as the very first principal. Our library today is named after Mr. Ferguson for his devotion to Beverly School. Stop by the Media Center to see the special plaque or just ask us about it!

EMMA..OUR STAR!

Thanks to William, our recorder, we know that Emma has two pets: a dog named Maizy and a cat named Cookie. Don't tell Maizy, but Emma's favorite is her cat! She loves pasta, especially when her mom makes it! Emma cheers for Michigan, but she has to admit that her favorite colors are blue and GREEN!

Fire Safety!

Mrs.Clark offered her "firefighter" son,Jason,to us...what a treat! He taught us about fire safety and more! Jason reminded all of us that we should have a plan in case of a house fire and to doulble check that we having WORKING smoke alarms in every part of the house! He tried on his gear for us and even let a volunteer from the audience put it on...boy was it HEAVY! The entire gear, including his helmet, weighs 80lbs! On his way out, he left us with stickers and a hat for each of us(one much lighter than his)!

Happy 40th Birthday Hungry Caterpillar!

We love you, Eric Carle! All the first graders wrote to Mr.Carle to tell him just that! We created a new Hungry Caterpillar especially for him!

Getting Ready!

As you can see, we worked hard getting ready for our student-led conferences! With the help of our fourth grade buddies, we were able to put voice to our PowerPoints! Come on mom and dad, we are ready!

The Relatives Came!

The Relatives really did come to first grade! What a nice surprise we had! We read one of our favorite books, The Relatives Came,closed our eyes to imagine what it would be like to have our relatives read with us...and in the realtives walked! We hugged, then read and enjoyed treats until the end of the day!

We Know More!

Thanks Graham for being such a great recorder! Now we know that Sydney's favorite colors are pink and blue. She loves Hip Hop dancing and would like to have a poodle someday!
